Growing together.

Technology partner.

Our customers have been at the heart of our product development for over 100 years. Their needs and expectations are what drives us – and our aspiration is to exceed them. In order to consolidate and expand the most promising and effective areas in agricultural engineering, and at the same time identify new opportunities, we have identified specific technology fields that we are currently interested in pursuing with partners. We are looking for strong partners in these fields who are going to take us to the next level with their expertise and technology.

Our technology fields.

Our visions.

Sensor Systems

  • Achieve a permanent data connection between machines and the back end.
  • Establish data-transfer compatibility between machines, implements, and back-end based on industry standards such as ISOBUS
  • Integrate mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets at the human-machine interface to show functions such as task management and implement control

Connectivity

  • Create a complete picture of all information relating to CLAAS machines and the agricultural process.
  • Create added value for the farmer by improving process quality, providing innovative services, and enabling new machine functions such as assistance systems and autonomous driving.
  • improving our products through a deeper understanding of customers' needs in the real-world.

Analytics Data Management

  • Analyze real-time data from connected machines online.
  • Evaluate data for new services with real-world applications for customers, such as predictive maintenance or process consulting
  • Improve product design based on load cycles derived from real-time operating data

Assistance Automation

  • Automate and/or provide operator support across all stages of the agricultural production chain in collaboration with partner companies
  • Reduce the number of operating interventions undertaken by the operator in order to decrease their workload, reduce sources of error, and improve the overall process.
  • Automate machine functions with a focus on self-adjusting systems
  • Develop autonomous machines for selected applications

Ergonomy HMI

  • Create an intuitive, simple, and uniform control logic for all CLAAS products—from tractors to farm management software
  • Provide an attractive, ergonomic, and low-fatigue working environment for machine operators

Electrification

  • Improve the performance and adaptivity of a machine using electric machines instead of hydromechanical drive trains.
  • Achieve industry-wide standards for voltage levels and interfaces
  • Develop unique powertrain designs optimized for the power classes of our machines.

Powertrain Optimization

  • Improve energy efficiency across the entire powertrain—i.e., the chain from the combustion engine through to the drive and wheels/caterpillar tracks—to reduce CO2 emissions
  • Reduce the trade-off between performance and fuel consumption
  • Optimize traction efficiency and soil protection using alternative concepts such as crawler track units instead of wheels

Lightweight Design

  • Reduce a machine's weight using a lightweight design to comply with regulations and increase performance at the same time
  • Use clever combinations of materials and new production processes to make cost-effective use of materials

Artificial intelligence

  • Optimize work in all CLAAS product units using standardized AI tools and methods (from maintenance to innovative AI-based product add-ons)
  • Optimize all CLAAS products (e.g. production cost optimization and planned preventive maintenance to innovative AI-based product add-ons)
  • Acquire new knowledge about our domains/customers by analyzing globally available data resources

Agricultural Process Technologies

  • Optimize arable practices in the fields of tillage, sowing, applying fertilizer, and crop protection
  • Develop new technologies for harvesting feed and grain, for example, mowing, threshing, forage harvesting, and baling
  • Optimize the entire agricultural production chain
